About us
A place to pause
and brew
In a world where everything seems to be shifting — faster, louder, less certain — there is something quietly stubborn about a red tent that keeps showing up in the same beautiful spot, year after year, with the kettle on and the door open.
That is us. We are not in the centre of things. We never have been. We set up somewhere with a view, somewhere the energy can breathe, somewhere you might hear about through a rumour or stumble upon while following a feeling. And when you find us, we hope it feels like you were always going to end up here eventually.
We are a tea house and we are also, honestly, a very good cover story for all sorts of other things. Strange costumes. Unexpected theatre. Deep conversations at odd hours. The particular alchemy that happens when a group of people who don't quite fit anywhere else find each other and share something warm.

“Come when the burn is too much. Come when it is exactly right and you want to savour it slowly.”
What you'll find
Sink into a cushion, let someone pour you something warm, write the thing you have been meaning to write, read a book, stare at the water, do absolutely nothing and do it beautifully.

The Tea
The tea is real and it is brewed with love. Many varieties, served with care. Iced lemon sencha if the sun is generous. Chai by the wooden stove if the weather turns. Cold drinks, fruit, and the occasional snack.

The People
The tent draws people who need a pause. Strangers become friends over a shared cup. Everyone is welcome, nobody needs a reason to stay.

The Music
We are not a sound camp — but music runs through everything we do. The tent has its own sonic arc: organic and ambient in the afternoon, drifting toward electronic and techno as the night deepens. The music is curated with care and offered as a gift, not a backdrop. On the right nights there are concerts, sound jams, DJ sets, or something that nobody planned and nobody will forget.

This year we are expanding our outdoor area with a larger fireplace to gather around as the night arrives. The view is still there. So are we.
Eight Borderlands. Still “by the Sea”. Hope to see you this summer.
